Yes there will be plenty of parking on the day. The parking charge of £5 helps to pay for the upkeep of the parking facilities. Please bring the correct change on the day. Please follow the signs and advice from the Marshals onsite.
If you have any worries we suggest you consult with your doctor. On registration we ask you to advise us of any existing medical conditions or injuries that we should be aware of. The obstacle run is not for the faint hearted, it’s a 10km run with a number of steep hills and various types of obstacles to go under/over/through. We advise that you train accordingly, incorporating cardio and strength exercises into your routine.
We suggest you dress according to the weather/time of year. Wear light running clothing and good quality running shoes. Long running leggings and tops are recommended to protect your skin against the obstacles. Please do not wear spikes or studded shoes/trainers - these will not be suitable for some areas of the course and may cause injury to your fellow competitors or damage the obstacles. We recommend that you do not wear sunglasses as it is highly likely you will lose these around the course. In the winter gloves and a hat are a good idea, and in the summer please make sure you apply some sun screen. As you will be getting wet and muddy we suggest you bring a spare pair of dry clothes for after the event.
The event you will be taking part in carries some risk of personal injury. As we cannot accept liability for any injuries incurred, you are required to print your name on a waiver when you sign up to the event online. On the day you will be requested to bring along a passport/drivers licence as proof of ID to ensure you are the same person who has signed the waiver
Yes providing 2 weeks notice is given but not refundable.
You have to be 8 or older on the day of the run in order to participate
We suggest you leave any valuables in your vehicle but make sure they are not on show. A valuables tent will be available on the day. The OVERLOAD event cannot take responsibility for vehicles or personal belongings in the car park, nor do we take responsibility for any personal belongings left on the day.
Yes there are spectator areas so they can watch and cheer you on at certain positions on the run including the start and finish. Unfortunately spectators will not be able to access all areas of the run for health and safety reasons. There will be food and entertainment on the day for the spectators.
The event will only be cancelled if it is deemed too dangerous for runners to participate – we run in rain, wind, snow or sun. Please dress according to the weather on the event day
Start times are between 10.00am and 11.30pm depending on which wave you enter. Gates and registration opens at 9.00am. The course will close 2 hours 30 minutes after the last wave. We advise if you think it will take you longer than 2 hours 30 minutes to complete then you enter an early wave.

When you arrive we ask you to go to the registration tent, in the OVERLOAD Village, near the car parking areas. You will be asked to register and provide proof of ID so that we can give you your running number. It is recommended you arrive at least an hour before the start of your wave, this will give plenty of time to park, register, store personal belongings and pin your number to yourself.
There will be first aiders and medical team on the day. Marshalls will be posted around the course. If you do become injured please make your way to the medical tent for help, if you are unable to make your way to the medical tent then please raise the alarm with the nearest marshal who will seek help for you. OVERLOAD strives to prevent injury and ensure that all obstacles are safe yet challenging. Please advise on the day if there has been any change to your medical history or if you are suffering from any injuries.
We will not be providing timing chips on the day, if you are a competitive runner we suggest you time yourself. Make sure any watches are waterproof and shockproof!
Only well behaved animals will be allowed on site in designated areas and must be kept on a leash at all times.
There will be toilets on-site for runners and spectators. There will also be a number of good quality food and drink stalls at the OVERLOAD village, as well as a shop to buy clothes.
The run is supposed to be a challenge and we want you to push yourself to your limits and feel a sense of achievement for completing the course. People are keen to help each other through the obstacles so don’t be afraid to ask fellow competitors or the marshals for help. Most participants attack every obstacle with of a sense of pride. If you find you can’t complete an obstacle, you do not have to do it. If at any time during the run you feel you are unable to carry on please speak to a marshal.
